The artistic approach is the one we favour when facing a new challenge. The beginning becomes the most emotional moment in which everything is possible, in creativity´s universe.

This is the spirit that joins us in our experience. To center man in the context of everything we produce, is not inevitable but compulsory. Sprung from our artistic life, our work as if it was exposed in a permanent gallery has been an contact made possible, because a part of our work can be seen in many national and international hotels.

Art needs to be “present“ to have a role and to be “judged”. 		 


SOFIA courteilles MIGUEL pinho
  The work had its start based on the degree in Architecture of both creative , Sofia Courteilles and Miguel David Pinho and , as they always engaged in Art, in the painting and Tile work of Sofia Courteilles , as well as in Miguel David Pinho´s Photography, which were always present in their artistic engagement. That can be seen in several artistic national and international works. 

Their unique ability to work together took them, as soon as they were presented with artistic challenges, back in the year 2000, into a new chapter in their professional life, where also recycling and reuse of several objects and materials made a point into a creative path, performing a variety of original art works and several art interventions.

Right from the beginning, working on the project “ Art in Architecture “,they both had the aim to launch Art at the start of the Architecture project, as in Interior Architecture and Decoration. This target of their joined effort brought them to, the creative Art project in 2003 at Mercure Gaia Hotel , and after several projects later on ,going even further both in their creative aspect and their technical skills ,as at the art work project at Myriad Hotel at Park of Nations in Lisbon, Portugal .

“Art in Architecture” concept aims to go further and to inspire a new approach through artistic and Architectonic reflection and formation. By several art works already done, it pretends to rich new levels to be able to have a serious contribution in society.

In 2003, the artistic project at the Mercure Gaia Hotel, for the ACCOR/AMORIM group took the Porto Wine as concept. This was the first of many artistic hotels projects they will perform than forward. It can be seen as a “anchor stone“ of their work, for the projects they conceive as in Portugal as in other countries.

Sofia Courteilles and Miguel David Pinho, in 2011, were invited to present an artistic concept work to SANA/AZINOR group, for the EPIC SANA Luanda Hotel. And so they did it by envisioning and achieving an art project for this group at Luanda in Angola. This happened in the sequence of many projects already constructed for this group since 2004. Their work based in the conceptual idea about Africa nature and african ethnic jewelry engaged in an extensive contemporary work that exploited several art forms and expressions. So, we can find their art work at the Hotel reception, in the rooms, at the president suites, at the headquarters offices of the administration group on the top floor among several other hotel areas.

After these, and linking with their art performance at Luanda Hotel, when this task was accomplished, responding to the SANA group´s request again, and relying on the art studies and inquiries they had been doing since 2006, they were invited to the MYRIAD Hotel Project in 2012, at Nations Park in Lisbon, Portugal.
Here we can see, how creativity and expertise can be associated responding to a huge challenge. The main art intervention named “We need to sail…to Live”, is the answer to that challenge. Hanging at 70 meters from the floor five amazing “jellyfish lighted” are “floating”. We can also appreciate the art work “World“, like an “origami made by glass and mirror“ at the reception, and the tile panel “Anyma“ at the lobby. We can find also, at the president suite a special painting, as others art works in others areas in this hotel. Their artistic work, took really a place at interior architecture of this iconic hotel.

They had been carrying out its task usually,for some regular National end international clients

The individual art intervention and architecture work, of each partners is to be seen in several private homes and collections, as in a number of public and private constructions such as at the Quinta da Penha Longa-SIntra, at the Pine Cliffs/Sheraton in Algarve and at the BAI- Angola Bank of Investment in Lisbon for instance. In their individual curriculum we can read more, about professional activity.
